The city of Cerritos offered a $10,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who shot a 19-year-old woman in the head during a carjacking, authorities said.
The victim, who was in critical condition at a Long Beach hospital, was shot late Tuesday in the 12300 block of Edgefield Street. Her identity was not released.
Several people called 911 and said they heard gunfire, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect approached the woman, demanded her car and then fired twice with a small-caliber gun when she tried to drive away, authorities said.
The suspect, who was wearing a white T-shirt, was described as 20 to 23 years old, with a shaved head, no facial hair and a pierced right eyebrow.
