UC Irvine (2-0) vs. Illinois State (1-0) noon, first round of the University Hoops Classic, Moon Township, Pa.--The Anteaters are coming off a 96-93 double overtime victory over Pepperdine on Tuesday behind Jerry Green’s career-high 41 points, which tied him for the third-highest total in Irvine history. The University Hoops Classic is hosted by Robert Morris College, outside Pittsburgh. The Anteaters will meet either Pittsburgh or Oakland (Mich.) Saturday. Irvine’s Sunday opponent will come from a group that includes South Florida, Kent State, Hofstra and Robert Morris. Forward Shedrick Ford’s 18 points and eight rebounds paced Illinois State in its first game, a 74-70 win over Weber State. Irvine junior forward Jordan Harris had 18 points, including six in the second overtime, in the win over Pepperdine.
