Man Suspected of Sex Crimes Surrenders
An Antelope Valley businessman and civic figure wanted on suspicion of committing sex crimes against a 12-year-old boy surrendered to authorities Friday.
Howard L. Brooks, a 61-year-old field representative for Republican Assemblyman Phil Wyman, turned himself in without incident to Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies, authorities said. Bail was set at $195,000.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office has accused the Quartz Hill man of continuous sexual abuse, lewd acts with a child and possession of child pornography.
