Accidents Kill 7 in First Part of Holiday Weekend
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Seven people died in traffic accidents in Los Angeles County during the first three days of the Thanksgiving weekend, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The figure was three higher than the number of fatalities for the same period last year, said CHP officer Spencer Ammons. The number covers the period from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday morning.
The numbers reflect the number of fatalities on all county roads, not just the freeways patrolled by the CHP. Statewide, traffic crashes claimed 27 lives.
