Airline Was Warned of Attack That Never Came
American Airlines has advised its pilots that it had received a Federal Aviation Administration circular warning of a “possible aviation-related terrorist attack on U.S. interests or military forces” within the next 48 hours.
“There are no details available regarding location, modus operandi or the identities of the perpetrators,” the carrier’s advisory said.
The deadline passed late Thursday without any reported attacks.
American and the FAA declined comment about the circular and the resultant advisory to American’s pilots. It was not immdiately determined whether any other airlines received the FAA circular.
