Veteran goaltender Stephane Fiset, who suffered a knee injury playing with Manchester of the American Hockey League on Oct. 20, is expected to start skating again in three weeks, Murray said.

“He’s probably five or six weeks away from being able to play,” Murray said.

With 45 points, the Kings’ defensemen ranked sixth in the league in scoring before Thursday, trailing Detroit, Edmonton, Calgary, the New York Rangers and Ottawa. Their 41 assists ranked second, with Phillipe Boucher and Jaroslav Modry totaling 10 each.

Mathieu Schneider leads the group with 13 points and has all four goals scored by King defensemen this season.

Boucher also leads the team in shots and has recorded a shot on goal in 23 of the Kings’ 24 games this season.
