Prince Edward Agrees to Stop Filming Royals

From Times Staff Reports

Britain’s Prince Edward will stop making films about the royal family after his TV company broke media guidelines on filming his nephew Prince William, the company’s chairman said.

Malcolm Cockren, chairman of Edward’s Ardent Productions, said the firm would focus on other features.

Prince Charles was described by aides as “incandescent” with rage last week upon learning that Ardent had continued to film in St. Andrews in Scotland, where William, his son, has started college. Edward has long been accused of using his position to boost his business.
