Police sought a jealous ex-boyfriend who shot and killed a South-Central woman and her cousin in front of five children and then returned Tuesday vowing to kill the children, authorities said.

Otto Glass, 35, of Lancaster broke down the door of Sabrina Lynette Brown’s home at 8:30 p.m. Monday when she refused to let him in, police said, and killed her and Derron Edward Brown, her cousin.

The 8-year-old son of Glass and Sabrina Brown witnessed the shooting, police said, along with the slain woman’s roommate’s four children.

Brown’s son fled to neighbor Birdie Scott’s home screaming and crying, Scott said.

“He grabbed me and cried, ‘My daddy shot my mom in the head!’ ” Scott, 66, said.

At 10 a.m. Tuesday, police said, Glass returned to the home on the 3100 block of Slauson Avenue, in the Dorsey Village development, and threatened to kill the children and anybody else who crossed him.

Glass, about 5 feet 11 and 200 pounds, may be driving a red 1999 Dodge Neon. Police said Glass was caught burglarizing Brown’s home once before.

Neighbors described Glass as a frequently jealous man, even over a neighbor’s help repairing Sabrina Brown’s car.

Brown, 32, recently had changed jobs, and was working for an ambulance company in Torrance, because it did not require her to work nights, according to family. She was pleased because she could spend more time with her boy, they said.

Derron Brown, 35, sometimes stayed with his cousin, and of late, did so to make her feel safer, his mother, Erma Jean Brown, 61, said.

He had returned in July from Dallas, where he had worked as a salesman, she said. He was looking for a job here to support his children, she said.
