Reward Offered for Missing Woman, 20
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the return of a Placentia woman who disappeared on a trip to San Diego eight months ago.
Authorities said Lynsie Ekelund, 20, called her mother Feb. 16 to cancel their customary Friday night dinner. She said she was going to spend the night at a girlfriend’s house in Anaheim. She ended up going with several friends to San Diego. A friend who took Ekelund home said he dropped her off at her mother’s next-door neighbors’ home about 4:30 a.m. Feb. 17.
The reward is being offered by the Carole Sund-Carrington Memorial Foundation, established after the 1999 Yosemite murders of Carole Sund, her daughter and a friend.
