Two of the most powerful executives in the music and publishing industries have joined forces to create https://www.insidesessions.com, an online education program for aspiring musicians and authors.

The brainchild of Universal Music Group Chairman Doug Morris and Penguin Putnam chief Phyllis Grann, InsideSessions launches today, featuring lessons and advice from music stars and best-selling authors, including Elton John, Sting, Fred Durst, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Clancy and Amy Tan.

The classes provide students with professional insight about breaking into the business, including lists of industry contacts, sample recording contracts, manuscript submission guidelines, deal points in publishing contracts and how to work with editors and publishers.
