Fired Worker Arrested in Assault on Boss
From Times Staff Reports
Police arrested a Ventura man Wednesday after he allegedly attacked his boss at a Target store with a box cutter upon learning he had been fired.
Travis Akers, 25, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism after the incident about 7 a.m., said Ventura Police Sgt. David Wilson.
“He showed up for work, and he was pulled into the office and told he was terminated,” Wilson said.
Akers’ supervisor, Paul Fode, 28, sustained minor cuts, Wilson said.
