Blues Flame Out on Lowry’s Goal

Dave Lowry scored a tiebreaking goal midway through the third period and Craig Conroy had a goal and an assist, as the Calgary Flames defeated the St. Louis Blues, 3-2, Monday night at St. Louis.

Roman Turek stopped 26 shots and Scott Nichol scored for Calgary, which extended its winning streak to four games.

The last time the Flames had won four in a row was Jan. 8-18, 2000.

Jamal Mayers and Pavol Demitra scored for St. Louis, which had its four-game unbeaten streak halted.

Lowry snapped a 2-2 tie with a power-play goal at 9:36 of the third period.

San Jose 5, New York Rangers 1--Vincent Damphousse scored two goals and former Ranger Adam Graves got his first point this season.

The Rangers honored Graves, who played 10 seasons in New York before being traded to San Jose in June, with a video montage and a Madison Square Garden ovation lasting several minutes.

Scott Thornton, Brad Stuart and Patrick Marleau scored for San Jose, which moved into first place in the Pacific Division.

Brian Leetch scored for the Rangers, who gave up two goals in the first 10 minutes.

Nashville 4, Edmonton 2--Vladimir Orszagh and Kimmo Timonen scored in a three-minute span in the third period for Nashville at Edmonton.

Orszagh snapped a 2-2 tie at 9:20 of the third period, and Timonen added a power-play goal at 12:12.

Scott Hartnell and Scott Walker also scored for Nashville. Anson Carter and Georges Laraque scored for Edmonton.
