Woman Killed, Husband Hurt in Car Accident
A 17-year-old who fell asleep as he was driving to work early Tuesday rear-ended a car, killing the passenger and critically injuring the driver, police said.
Shireen Dadpoursaf, 56, of Mission Viejo died at the scene, said Jon Fleischman, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Her husband, Amir Dadpour, 72, was in stable condition at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, he said.
The couple were in a Toyota sedan stopped at a signal on Crown Valley Parkway at Alicia Parkway about 5:30 a.m. when the vehicle was struck from behind by the youth’s pickup truck, Fleischman said. The truck’s driver, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was not injured.
