Cartoon Insults Muslims

Paul Conrad in his Oct. 22 cartoon (Commentary) shows an Afghan in prostration during Islamic prayers on the battlefield. Conrad shows the man’s gun lying in front of him as he says, “God is good; guns are great.”

While those who harbor terrorists like Osama bin Laden are legitimate targets, Conrad did not need to target God and unnecessarily make this a war on religion. This violates the spirit of President Bush’s promise that this war is not on Islam and Muslims.

It is an insult to the followers of the Abrahamic faiths and all God-fearing citizens.
