Continental Airlines CEO Far From Greedy

I just wanted to mention that not all chief executives are “greedy corporate leaders” [“America’s CEOs Have a Lot to Learn About Sacrifice,” Letters, Oct. 21].

I have been an employee of Continental Airlines for six years and am very proud of our CEO. I think you will find that most our company employees are proud of the personal stake our CEO, Gordon Bethune, has taken to ensure that our employment and job security is his most important objective.

Mr. Bethune will not be getting a paycheck along with the highest-paid management until our airline can return to its original form and furloughed employees are offered their jobs back. I think this is as far from greedy as one could be.
