No Successor Named for Exiting Consumer Chief

Ann Brown’s departure this week from the Consumer Product Safety Commission will leave no permanent leader at the agency that warns Americans about every

thing from collapsing cribs to faulty fire extinguishers.

Brown, a former consumer activist appointed by former President Clinton in 1994, raised the CPSC’s profile with frequent television appearances to announce product recalls and warnings.
