Seniors and Moving: BridgePoint at Beverly Hills, a retirement and assisted-living residence, will host a round-table discussion to answer questions seniors have about moving. Cynthia Radom, a senior real estate specialist with Coldwell Banker in Beverly Hills, and Greg Gunderson, president of Gentle Transitions, will share tips on eliminating stress in moving and selling a house or condo.

Historic Claremont: A walking tour of the downtown Village area of Claremont with a Claremont Heritage guide. The tour includes exteriors of Victorian houses as well as college and commercial buildings.

Library Benefit: Dinners featuring such well-known writers and celebrities as Michael Crichton and Larry King will be held in some of the most elegant homes throughout Southern California to benefit the adult literacy programs of the Los Angeles Public Library. Among the hosts are Beverly Hills Realtor Jeff Hyland of Hilton & Hyland and his wife, Lori, who will hold a dinner at their new Art Deco-style home and Gamet Pinot Noir-producing vineyard. K.C. Cole, author of the bestseller “The Universe and the Teacup,” will be the featured author at this dinner.

Location: Various homes and other locations. Each of the dinners is being coordinated by the Council of the Library Foundation. A kickoff reception next Sunday at the Central Library will be hosted by actor Gregory Peck and his wife, Veronique, followed by a dinner at the California Club, also part of the fund-raiser.

Cost: $300 per ticket with six preferences regarding home or author featured; $800 per ticket for guests who want to be assured of a first or second choice; $2,500 per ticket for guests wanting to attend Sunday and Monday events while being assured of a first or second choice for Monday evening.

Investing in Apartments: A seminar on how to approach investors and raise capital, deal with various laws of syndication, deal with lenders, manage the property, deal with investors during the holding period and liquidate the investment or ownership entity.
