Norma Basgall, in her Oct. 14 letter, exactly expressed my feelings regarding United Airlines and its $100 fee for changing ticket dates. I had a similar experience with United on Oct. 9. I had canceled my reservation for Oct. 11, and my travel agent suggested that I plead my case to them. My daughter had been diagnosed as possibly having spinal cancer. I wanted to stay home for her. The United representatives were rude and disinterested. They also charged me a $100 change fee.
