Well, We Didn’tForget to Duck
An L.A. Times sportswriter walks into a local bar with a duck in one arm and a beaver in the other. He sits at the bar and places the duck on one side and the beaver on the other. The bartender looks at him and asks what’s up with the animals.
The writer looks at the bartender and says, “I’m a sportswriter and these are my No. 1 and No .2 picks for the upcoming college season.” The bartender says, “Well, that’s great, they can stay, but who are you?”
“My name is Chris Dufresne and I write for The Times.”
The bartender looks at him and asks, “I recognize the duck and the beaver, but who can vouch for you?”
Dufresne, now dumbfounded, looks toward the corner and tells the bartender, “Well, that guy over there can vouch for me because I learned everything from him. That’s T.J.!”
