Big East Conference Honors Schmidt

Boston College’s Casey Schmidt, a junior forward from Newbury Park High, has been selected the Big East Conference’s offensive player of the week in soccer after scoring two goals in a season-opening 5-1 victory over Syracuse last week.

Schmidt, the Big East’s offensive player of the year as a sophomore and a preseason All-American, shared the weekly honor with Dustin Sheppard of Rutgers.
