Haitian Americans
Re “A New World for Haitians,” Sept. 4: As an American of Haitian descent, I completely agree with John-Thor Dahlburg when he writes that Haitians have a lot of pride and work very hard to achieve the American dream. You see, we do not have time to be disrespectful of America’s institutions, nor do we have the energies to become thugs. On the contrary, Haitians love education, the American work ethic and are as American as apple pie. Indeed, just take a deep look into the American Revolution and you’ll find Haitian blood being sacrificed for American independence.
