Officials Say Slain Man Was Strangled
A 31-year-old Oxnard man whose body was found in the Santa Monica Mountains near Point Mugu had been strangled, coroner’s officials confirmed Sunday.
Gabriel Gil Flores, an unemployed electrician, had been dead for about two days when his body was found about 6 p.m. Friday near Pacific View and Deer Creek roads, according to Ventura County sheriff’s officials.
Homicide detectives said they have no strong leads but believe that Flores was killed elsewhere.
Flores, who was divorced, is survived by twin sons; his mother, who lives in Ventura; and several brothers and sisters, authorities said.
