American Wine & Food Festival: Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff, through their Puck-Lazaroff Charitable Foundation, throw this huge annual fund-raiser to help local chapters of Meals on Wheels. Thirty chefs and 60 wineries provide food and drink. Some of the chefs include Nobu Matsuhisa, Larry Forgione, Mark Peel, Nancy Silverton, Robert Del Grande, Stephan Pyles, Jimmy Schmidt, Lydia Shire, Bradley Ogden, Francois Pallyard, Michael Mina, Norman Van Aken, Susan Spicer, Piero Selvaggio and Joachim Splichal. 6 p.m. The back lot of Universal Studios, 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City. Extra Fair Entertainment: If you somehow miss the milking demonstration and the pig races at the L.A. County Fair, you can catch some cooking classes. Chef Henry Gonzalez from Wolfe’s Marketplace in Claremont shows how to make gnocchi and tiramisu at 3 p.m. in The Vineyard kitchen next to the Flower and Garden Pavilion in the Home and Gardens Neighborhood.
