Staff and Wire Reports

The Galaxy’s Luis Hernandez failed to show up for practice at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday morning and club officials were unable to contact the Mexican striker or his agent.

“We don’t know [where he is],” Coach Sigi Schmid said. “I hope there wasn’t an accident or something like that. You always worry about that and want to make sure he’s OK first. I know he was feeling a little bit under the weather in terms of maybe flu coming on, but if that was the case, you’d think he would have called.”

Hernandez, who has been struggling with a hip injury, was at practice Monday morning.

The players were given today off but will practice again Thursday in preparation for Sunday night’s Major League Soccer playoff game against the New York/New Jersey MetroStars at the Rose Bowl.
