A 34-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday in Granada Hills when a man making a left turn collided into him, police said.

Rafael Matos was driving the speed limit eastbound on Rinaldi Street when he was struck by a car making a left turn onto Ruffner Avenue at 1:35 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Ron Tingle said.

Matos, a resident of Granada Hills, died at the scene. The driver of the car, Donald Yates, 75, of Granada Hills, was not charged and was uninjured. Police said speed was not a factor.
