2 Men Face Charges in Aircraft Parts Fraud
Two men were arrested Thursday on federal charges that they altered used aircraft parts and falsely certified other parts as new.
Amanullah Khan, 53, and Ziad Jamil Gammoh, 52, owners of United Aircraft & Electronics in Anaheim, were indicted on 10 counts of conspiracy and fraud.
The indictment, issued Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Santa Ana, accuses Khan and Gammoh of issuing false certifications that were sent along with the parts to private and military customers. None of the parts were associated with any crashes or mechanical failures, said U.S. attorney’s spokesman Thom Mrozek.
If convicted on all counts, the men could be sentenced to 140 years in prison.
