My Way on the Highway

California’s ridiculous speed limit and lane restriction for trucks also apply to cars pulling trailers (“Big Rig Drivers Chafe at Life in the Slow Lane,” March 26). This greatly inconveniences those of us who tow recreational vehicles on the way to the desert or other recreational sites.

Modern cars and motor homes can easily and safely cruise at 60 to 70 mph, even when towing. Being forced into the right lanes means we have to tangle with on/off-ramp traffic and truly slow vehicles. This is more dangerous than being allowed to keep up with traffic and avoiding the right lane.
