Stitching Together a Week of Promise

Jared Gold’s Black Chandelier collection was full of wearable looks with a sense of humor, including a black circle skirt with robot-shaped patches, a black miniskirt trimmed in pink and red “brothel fringe,” as Gold described it, and a blue shirtdress embellished with a pinstriped ruffle hem.

He presented made-to-order dresses in fiery shades of red that arrested the senses--one a crazy concoction of tulle, sequins and suede, modeled by a female fire-eater who had flames shooting out of her fingers. It all made the audience a bit nervous, but that was probably the point. Gold never fails to hold our attention.
