Agribuys Names New President
* Vijay Yajnik has been promoted to chief executive and president of Agribuys, a Torrance-based food industry supply chain services provider. He joined the company in January as president and chief operating officer from Worldwide Retail Exchange.
* Michael Lodato has joined Carpinteria-based QAD Inc. as chief marketing officer. He is a former executive with DigitalThink Inc. in San Francisco.
* Universal Studios Hollywood has reorganized its marketing and retailing areas and has promoted Don Skeoch to the new post of senior vice president, marketing and retail. He will be responsible for all retail store locations within the theme park.
The company also named Brian Pope vice president, brand marketing and marketing services for the theme park.
* Jonathan Urdan has been named senior vice president, finance for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, a unit of Fox Filmed Entertainment. He is a former chief executive of Evolab, a technology/music start-up.
* Eric Aledort has been promoted to senior vice president, business development and strategic partnership marketing at Walt Disney Internet Group, a Walt Disney Co. division that manages all the entertainment company’s Web sites.
* Creative Artists Agency has promoted the following people to the position of agent: Jay Baker, Heather Berland, Bryan Geers, Brian Manning, Mick Sullivan and Christian Troy.
* Tracy Lynch-Sanchez has been named music supervisor of Take 5 Music Services, a new division of Megatrax Music, a Hollywood-based supplier of original production music. The new division will provide music supervision and editing services. Lynch-Sanchez is a former executive with Music Resources Inc.
* Elysia Cardone has been promoted to manager, music clearance and licensing at Parker Music Group in Los Angeles.
* Allison Bloom has been named senior media buyer and Erin N. Brown has been named media buyer at Inter/Media, an Encino-based advertising agency.
* Jon Palmer has joined commercial cleaning services franchiser OpenWorks as regional director for Southern California. He is formerly of LGS Reports Inc.
* Emmett Albergotti has been named vice president of MBK Southern California Ltd., a commercial real estate firm specializing in retail and shopping center development.
* William A. Hall has been appointed general manager of the Century Plaza Hotel & Spa. He is a former managing director of resort operations at the Cloister Hotel and Beach Club in Sea Island, Ga.
* Gerald Baril has been named vice president and public works director of Hall & Foreman Inc., a Santa Ana-based civil engineering firm.
* Thomas Goff has been appointed senior vice president at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide. He will lead the agency’s corporate reputation management practice in Los Angeles. He was a public relations executive at Atlantic Richfield Co.
