Suspect in Death of Student Surrenders
A man wanted for allegedly killing his girlfriend’s teenage daughter in Lincoln Heights surrendered to police Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Man Cooc Duong, 53, is a suspect in the April 14 strangulation of Linda Au, 18, an honor student and varsity basketball player at Verdugo Hills High School. Au’s body was found under a pile of clothes in a bedroom closet by her mother in their home in the 3200 block of Baldwin Street near Mission Road, police said.
Duong is being held without bail. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call detectives at (323) 526-3817 or (877) 529-3855.
