Amgen Sponsors Courses for Science Teachers
Cal Lutheran University is looking for teachers to participate in the first Amgen Summer Science Institute beginning in June.
The six weeklong courses will focus on topics from marine science to human genetics.
Funding for the project, aimed at helping middle and high school educators discover better ways to teach science, comes from a $60,000 grant from Thousand Oaks biotechnology giant Amgen. Each session will end with a seminar led by experts from the community and a workshop on technical writing for students.
Fifteen spots are available for each of the workshops, which cost $150 each.
