From Times Wire Reports

Amtrak said it had restored more than half of the 50 daily train departures on its high-speed Acela route after potentially dangerous defects in the suspension system prompted the passenger railroad to suspend operations last week.

Amtrak does not expect to restore any additional trains or routes today, a spokeswoman for the train operator said.

The spokeswoman said Amtrak would run 17 of its normal 32 weekday departures along the heavily traveled Washington-to-New York route Monday, and 13 of its normal 18 departures along the New York-to-Boston circuit.
