Santa Monica Boulevard Getting a New Look
The decades-long-overdue overhaul of “big” and “little” Santa Monica boulevards between Sepulveda Boulevard and Beverly Hills is a great idea (“Some Fear Bumpy Ride During Street’s Makeover,” Aug. 22). As a Los Angeles native, I applaud the plan. Too long have such Los Angeles standouts as Westwood Gateway Towers, the Mormon temple, Century City and the Beverly Hilton Hotel been fronted by the ugly streetscape and unsightly median of the two Santa Monica boulevards. Yes, there might be inconveniences to local businesses, but the end result will benefit everyone.
