Deputies Seek Man Who Fatally Shot Motorist
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who fatally shot a Quartz Hill motorist last week after flagging him down under the pretense of having car trouble, authorities said.
The man--standing by what appeared to be a broken-down car--allegedly waved to driver Ladd Schweitzer, 67, and his girlfriend about 11 p.m. Thursday at Avenue N and 70th Street East, deputies said. Schweitzer pulled over to help, and the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money. When Schweitzer tried to drive off, the man shot and killed him, deputies said.
Homicide detectives said the man was in a silver car. Anyone with information is asked to call (323) 890-5500.
