Car Strikes and Kills 80-Year-Old Pedestrian

An 80-year-old man crossing the street was fatally injured Sunday when a car driven by an 85-year-old man struck him, Los Angeles police said.
Police did not identify either man Sunday. The incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. at Grand View Boulevard and Mitchell Avenue.
The man driving a red 1995 Chevrolet Corsica south on Grand View was turning left when the vehicle hit the victim, police said. The driver told police that the sun was in his eyes and he did not see the pedestrian. The driver was not cited.
