‘Martha Stewart’ show renewed
“Martha Stewart Living” lives!
Even as the blond media icon faces allegations of insider trading, her nationally syndicated daily television program will enter its 11th season next fall, according to distributor King World.
The Securities and Exchange Commission as well as the Justice Department are examining her sale of stock in ImClone Systems Inc. the day before the drug maker announced a damaging ruling from the Food and Drug Administration on its key cancer drug. Stewart has denied the accusations, but in an SEC regulatory filing last month, her company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., said the pair of high-profile investigations has had a negative impact on advertising revenue for both Martha Stewart Living magazine and her TV show.
The program, which runs one hour on weekdays and 30 minutes during one weekend episode, emphasizes cooking, gardening and entertaining. King World said it already has clearance in 70% of the country for next fall’s renewed season.
