Wounded Police Officer Listed in Good Condition

A Los Angeles Police Department officer wounded by a shotgun round remained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in good condition Saturday, according to hospital officials.
Victor Alvarez, 29, was wounded in the shoulder Friday when the man he and other officers were following on foot turned and fired. The shooting occurred about noon on 8th Street, about half a block east of Western Avenue.
David Rowland Young, 47, was charged with attempted murder.
