Campaign Financing

Share

The debate about whether the campaign finance laws constrain free speech is only half the story (Dec. 5). The advocates of repeal imply that they have the money but can’t be heard because of these laws. But what happens if you don’t have the necessary funds to buy your way into some serious face time with those in office? How do your concerns get heard? Does this debate underscore what many have been saying for a long time -- if you don’t pay, you don’t get a chance to have a say?
