Mortgage Interest Rates Decrease This Week

The average interest rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages dropped to 6.04% for the week ending today, down from 6.19% last week, mortgage giant Freddie Mac reported.
Rates on 15-year fixed-rate mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, dipped to 5.46% from 5.60%.
Rates on one-year adjustable-rate mortgages decreased to 4.18% this week, compared with 4.21% last week.
This week’s mortgage rates do not include add-on fees known as points. Thirty-year mortgage loans and 15-year mortgages each carried an average fee of 0.5 point. One-year ARMs carried an average fee of 0.6 point.
