City Council Votes to Waive Fees on Taxes
From Times Staff Reports
The Los Angeles City Council voted 10 to 0 to waive late fees and interest payments for some small-business owners and self-employed people who are behind on city taxes.
Lawmakers must still decide exactly who will be granted leniency: people whose businesses earn less than $100,000 a year in gross receipts or businesses making less than $25,000 gross.
Lawmakers will take up the issue Tuesday.
