Helicopter Airlifts Injured Sailor to Shore

A Coast Guard helicopter flew into a howling storm to rescue an injured sailor on a tanker 90 miles at sea, officials said.
An HH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Humboldt Bay lifted the sailor Thursday from the deck of the Dutch tanker Iva Pride west of Cape Mendocino.
The tanker, headed to Vancouver, Wash., called to report the sailor had almost severed a finger in an accident.
