Fighting the condo board

Share

Regarding “There Are Ways to Fight Those Noisy Leaf Blowers,” Letters, Dec. 8: If [the letter writer] figures out how to get law enforcement to create a healthy and peaceful home by eliminating carcinogenic fumes, I hope he will share it with all.

Over the last eight years, homeowners in the Los Angeles area have been forced to move from their condos due to carcinogenic fumes from tobacco smoke that has enveloped their homes ... from smoking neighbors.

As he suggested regarding the leaf blowers, we have all told the condo association boards, and they simply do not care. And this in spite of the nuisance clause in all CC&Rs;, which reads, “No noxious or offensive activity shall be carried on upon the Covered Property, nor shall anything be done thereon which might be or become an annoyance or nuisance to occupants within the Covered Property, which shall in any way interfere with the rights of quiet enjoyment of occupants within the Covered Property....”

It is my hope that condo developers will take note of these concerns and begin creating healthier living environments for the future.
