Miles to go before Eminem’s house is sold

The former Michigan home of rap artist Eminem didn’t command a high sales price at the close of bidding on EBay last week as many had anticipated.
After previous reports of bids as high as $12 million, the property failed to capture a single offer that met the $120,000 minimum. The house on Timken Avenue in Warren, Mich., which has been in the rapper’s family for 50 years, was Eminem’s home before his rise to stardom.
The dwelling is said to be where the artist wrote much of his early material. The singer continues to refer to the surrounding area -- north suburban Detroit, Eight Mile Road and his experiences while living there --in his music, as well as in his recently released film “8 Mile.”
