Freeway Closed 7 Hours After Man Found Dead
The Garden Grove Freeway was closed in both directions for more than seven hours Sunday after police found the body of a man who had been shot to death, authorities said.
The man was found in a light green or aqua Honda in the eastbound lanes near Beach Boulevard in Garden Grove. Police withheld his name pending notification of relatives.
Officials received a report of a single-vehicle accident about 5 a.m., said Sgt. Dennis Ellsworth, a spokesman for the Garden Grove Police Department.
The freeway was reopened at 12:55 p.m. “It caused quite a snafu,” said a spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or knows something about it to call the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 741-5704.
