Filming set on Hitler miniseries

Principal filming is scheduled to start early next month in Prague, Czech Republic, on a CBS miniseries covering the early life and political rise of Adolf Hitler, a project that drew criticism from Jewish leaders and others when it was announced last summer.

Despite calls for CBS to back away from the miniseries, the project, which is being produced by Alliance-Atlantis, took on a new screenwriter and continued development. Its cast includes Robert Carlyle as Hitler, Stockard Channing as Hitler’s mother, and Peter O’Toole as Paul von Hindenburg, who was president of the Weimar Republic during Hitler’s rise in Germany.

The miniseries is slated to air during the May ratings sweeps.
