Oxnard Driver Held After Police Pursuit
A 21-year-old Oxnard man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a pursuit in Santa Paula, crashing through a fence and slamming into a parked car, officials said Tuesday.
Juan Carlos Miramontes remained jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail Tuesday night.
Santa Paula police had tried to pull him and a passenger over about 10:30 p.m. Monday for allegedly driving a stolen car and speeding near Harvard Boulevard and Palm Avenue.
A chase ended a few minutes later when Miramontes crashed through the fence and slammed into the parked car on private property on Bedford Street. The passenger fled.
