Rescues of Seniors From Squalor Raise Concerns

A string of recent rescues of elderly residents from squalid homes by building inspectors has stunned city authorities.
In the last two weeks, four seniors have been rescued from neglected, trash-filled homes that were unsafe, inspectors say. Three owned their homes.
City inspectors say they have never seen so many cases of older people living in substandard houses.
