Davis Appoints 6 Judges to Superior Court
Gov. Gray Davis named six new judges to the Los Angeles County Superior Court and elevated an appellate justice on Thursday.
The new Superior Court judges are: Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioners Robert A. Schnider, 57, of Sherman Oaks, and David Sotelo, 48, of Los Angeles; Deputy Dist. Attys. James R. Dabney, 46, and Craig D. Karlan, 36, both of Los Angeles; Assistant Los Angeles County Counsel Kevin C. Brazile, 45, of Los Angeles; and civil litigator Michael P. Vicencia, 38, of Long Beach. Associate Justice Dennis M. Perluss of the 2nd District Court of Appeal was named to succeed the late Mildred L. Lillie as presiding justice of Division 7. He must be confirmed by the state Commission on Judicial Appointments.
