Another Jelly Candy Brand Is Recalled

A Los Angeles company announced the recall of its brand of an Asian-made jelly candy because children could choke on it.

Anhing Corp.’s recall of Rolin brand Lychee Nata de Coco Jelly is the latest recall of conjac jelly candy containing an ingredient known as konjac, or yam flour.

Six children in the U.S. have died from this type of sticky candy, sold under dozens of brand names by myriad small companies that Food and Drug Administration inspectors are struggling to track down in order to pull the candy from the market.

The FDA has stopped imports and repeatedly warned parents not to let their children eat the once-popular treats.
