2 Pedestrians Hit in Crosswalk
Two women, one of them pushing a third person in a wheelchair, were struck by a car Sunday afternoon in Lake Forest and suffered minor injuries, police said.
Both women were taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo for evaluation, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Greg Russell said.
The woman in the wheelchair was not hurt. One of the pedestrians struck managed to push the wheelchair out of the way, Russell said.
The low-speed accident, at a crosswalk at Winding Way and Mammoth Circle, was still being investigated Sunday evening, Russell said, and the names of the victims and the driver were not immediately available.
The setting sun might have blinded the driver, he said.
